"Uncommissioned" investigates how topography shapes urban planning in Istanbul's Şişli district and highlights guerrilla architecture—uncommissioned work that challenges conventional urban development as a way to address urban challenges. The book presents 19 projects, including topographical research and various architectural interventions, to propose thoughtful solutions for sustainable and inclusive urban growth. By examining historical context and real-world conflicts, it aims to provoke thoughtful discussion and inspire new approaches in urban development.
